| Details: Job ID: 3784Position Description: Delfield Company, a member of the Manitowoc Foodservice family of companies, global leaders in commercial foodservice equipment, is seeking an innovative, Manufacturing Engineer. Delfield manufactures and markets a complete line of foodservice equipment for restaurants, hotels and institutions (including prep tables, undercounter/worktop refrigeration, refrigerated equipment stands, blast chillers/freezers and mobile serving lines) and specializes in custom and reach-in refrigeration. Key responsibilities of this position include planning and designing manufacturing processes that are in alignment with company objectives, working toward maximizing efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization and determining processes and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position is based in Covington, TN less than 1 hour from Memphis, TN.Position Requirements:1. Drives continuous improvement and lean initiatives with a focus on workflow, layout, single point scheduling, Kaizen events, standardized work, and 5S. 2. Leads projects to simplify processes and product designs (ie. fixturing, design changes, and capital equipment justifications). 3. Creates and maintains work standards, product routings and Operation Method Sheets (OMS). 4. Supports the New Product Development and Engineering Change processes through process documentation, routing maintenance, pilot runs, and employee training. 5. Recommends product design improvements to ensure manufacturability and ease of assembly. 6. Performs workflow balancing and time studies 7. Works as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing to ensure a smooth implementation of deviations and Engineering Change Notices. 8. Participates in various meetings and committees such as Lean Steering Committee, ECN board, etc.Position Attributes:1. Bachelors degree in Engineering is required.2. A minimum of 1 - 3 years prior experience is required for this position.3. Must have experience setting time standards.4. Must have experience in lean manufacturing.5. Must have experience with line balancing, process flow and able to perform Kaizen events.6. Must have good communications skills.7. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.8. Prior sheet metal and/or refrigeration experience is a plus. | ||||
